We are so excited for you to graduate! Below you will find important information about Commencement as well as cap and gown orders.

Parking
Graduates are encouraged to park in the Athletic Field Lot located on the corner of Rock Street and Centralia College Boulevard.
Guests can park in any parking stall behind the Library and TransAlta Commons buildings that is not reserved or marked for Disabled parking.
Restrooms
All buildings on campus will be open for restrooms.
Tassel
The tassel should be on the right side of your cap.
Day of Commencement
- Commencement will be outside – rain or shine. No tickets are needed but seating is Please ask your familyand friends to arrive early in the afternoon to find a parking place and be seated. There are a limited number of chairs. It is recommended that guests bring their own chairs or blankets to sit on.
- ALL PARTICIPATING GRADUATES NEED TO CHECK IN AT THE GYM NO LATER THAN 3:15 P.M. Do not leave valuables in the gym.
- The processional will begin at exactly 4 p.m.
- Caps and gowns may be picked up at the Enrollment Services Office from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday. The Enrollment Services office will close at 10 a.m. on the day of commencement.
- Honor and high honor students will receive silver or gold honor cords. Highest honor students will receive medallions and gold honor Cords will be passed out in the Enrollment Services Office when you pick up your cap and gown.
- Parking for disabled family members is available in the parking lot next to the library located on W. Pear Street. There will also be limited seating in the Accommodations tent.
- Enrollment Services staff members will be assisting you in the gym. Please don’t be late. Two lines will be formed for the processional THE PERSONS IN FRONT AND BEHIND YOU IN LINE WILL BE SITTING NEXT TO YOU DURING THE CEREMONY.
- In the gym, you will receive your name card. Please give it to the reader as you enter the stage during the ceremony. They will read your name and announce your degree and honors.
- You will proceed across the front stage when your name is announced. You will receive a diploma cover (your diploma will be mailed later) and a handshake from a member of the Board of Trustees. You then exit down the center ramp of the stage to receive a handshake from CC President Dr. Bob Mohrbacher before you return to your seat and sit down.
- Graduation announcements and souvenir tassels are available to purchase at the bookstore.

Graduation Photography
- A photo booth will be set up for pictures prior to the commencement ceremony.
- Stage photos of graduates can be taken from the photo area during the ceremony.
Viewing Commencement from Off-Campus
The Commencement Ceremony will be broadcast live via YouTube. Family and friends who are not able to attend can watch the ceremony by visiting the Centralia College YouTube Channel.
After Commencement
- All rented cap/gowns will need to be returned to Enrollment Services on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
- Your actual diploma will be mailed to you within 60 days of spring quarter grades posting.
How to Apply for Graduation
In order for your degree to be awarded and to receive information for the Commencement Ceremony, you must apply for graduation. The Graduation Application will determine if you are eligible to obtain your certificate or diploma. Information regarding the Commencement Ceremony will be sent mid-March. There is no fee to apply for graduation or to participate in Commencement.

If your Graduation Application is received by the priority deadline, your Academic Advisement Report determining your graduation progress will be sent to you and your advisor prior to the Advising Day of your last quarter.
If you completed your degree/certificate requirements prior to July 2023, contact Enrollment Services to request an Academic Advisement Report - 360-623-8976 or graduationCC@centralia.edu.
Diplomas
Centralia College will mail diplomas approximately 60 days after the end of the quarter in which the requirements for the program has been completed and verified. Diplomas will be mailed to the address on the student’s record.
