The college’s on-site ECEAP preschool programs - the Annex and Pear Street Early Learning Center - achieved Level 5 status earlier this summer.

Level 5 is the highest ranking possible and reflects comprehensive excellence across all critical areas of early learning and child development, including child outcomes, family engagement, curriculum implementation, overall learning environment, and continuous staff development. Less than 1 percent of childcare providers in the state have achieved a Level 5 designation.

“This accomplishment means so much more than reaching a single milestone,” said Teresa Schneider, director of CC’s Early Learning Programs. "It reflects the care, dedication, and shared commitment that shape how we show up every day. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made and remain deeply committed to creating meaningful, high-quality learning experiences for young children, while supporting the families we serve and making a positive difference in our community."

The Child Development Center provides on-site childcare and education to children ages 8 months to 5 years. The center is open to everyone (parents need not be college students). The center accepts Working Connections, military, and tribal subsidies, and discounts are available to Centralia College students. Spaces are still available at all age levels. Call 360-623-8949 or visit visit the Childcare Center webpage to learn more and apply.

ECEAP (Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program) is a state-funded free preschool program for 3- and 4-year-olds that meet income requirements. In addition to the on-campus ECEAP program, Centralia College has ECEAP sites in Centralia, Boistfort, Onalaska, Winlock, White Pass, Morton, Mossyrock, Rochester, and Oakville. Enrollment is ongoing for those programs. Call 360-623-8950 or visit the ECEAP webpage to learn more and apply.
