Running Start Admission

Getting started at Centralia College is easy and free. Student seeking to participate in the Running Start program can follow these simple steps to apply and register.

Running Start is a state program for academically qualified juniors and senior high school students. You can enroll in courses to fulfill high school graduation requirements and earn college credit.

STEP 1

Attend an orientation.

Learn about Running Start, how it works, the resources available, and your options to see if Running Start is right for you. Your parent or guardian must attend the orientation with you.

Step 2

Complete an Online Admission Form

Complete the free online admission form.

Step 3

Email Your High School Transcript

Email your most recent high school transcript to ccrunningstart@centralia.edu. If you are home-schooled, a transcript is not required.

Step 4

Take Placement Tests or Send Test Scores

You do not need to take a college placement test if you have one of the following:

  • A qualifying high school transcript with a ‘B’ or higher in your English class
  • An SBAC score in ELA of 3 or higher

If you do not have a transcript or a SBAC score, you can take a college placement test for free. Visit the Testing Center webpage for options. You must test into college-level reading to be eligible for Running Start.

Meet with a Centralia College Advisor
