ASCC Student Government

Students who enroll and pay Service Activities fees are members of the Associated Students of Centralia College (ASCC). ASCC Student Government promotes educational, social and cultural activities, acts as the official voice of the student body, and facilitates student participation in the college community for the betterment of Centralia College.

Meetings

Student Government meetings are held weekly with agendas and times posted throughout the campus. Their meetings are open to the student body and any interested student may attend. Any student who wishes to have an item placed on the agenda should contact the Student Government Office. Student Government members are required to spend five hours per week in the office and an additional five hours working on student government related issues. The members' office hours are posted on their office door and also in the Student Programs Office. These positions are compensated.

Major: Communications

Interests/hobbies: Hiking, spending time with my kids, volunteering, and catching up on my non-academic reading.

Why you came to CC: I originally came to CC to finish my high school diploma in the HS21 program.

What do you want to be when you grow up and how CC is going to help you achieve your goal? I fully intend to obtain my master’s degree in communications. CC will continue to help me achieve my goals but supplying me with the resources needed to further my academic and career goals.

What are you looking most forward to while being on Student Government?Growing Student Government’s online and in-person presence around campus. Along with building a more welcoming and inclusive campus community.

Major: Electronics/Robotics Automation

Interests/hobbies: Interested in happiness, like to draw

Why you came to CC: To be able to gain an education to aid in better employment possibilities

What do you want to be when you grow up and how CC is going to help you achieve your goal? I hope to be a family man and gain a good job. A degree from Centralia College could be a great stepping stone.

lily balloutLily Ballout - Senator for Executive Affairs

High School: International Christian School Of Lome

Major: International Relations

Interests/hobbies: Music composition, dance, having fun with friends and many more

Why you came to CC: Its affordability and credibility. I get to experience more, learn more, meet new people, and become better for the future I’m planning for myself so that it’ll not only benefit me, but others as well.

What do you want to be when you grow up and how CC is going to help you achieve your goal? I want to be able to work in many areas in the same field: International Relations. I want to be an example to others that you can accomplish more than one thing in life and if it’s being positively put out there and helping develop the world better, then you’re good to go! CC helps me by setting a foundation of my future path. It’s shaping me into what I see myself wanting to be - an independent, strong female who sets out positive examples to many.

What are you looking most forward to being on Student Government? I’m mostly looking for the experience of working with a team and of being independent as well. This not only improves my motives for the future, it is also an opportunity to get out there and engage with potential lifelong friendships.

Why you came to CC: I came to CC to get ahead in my education and expand my learning opportunities beyond the high school setting.

What do you want to be when you grow up and how CC is going to help you achieve your goal? I want to become a career and college guidance counselor and CC will help me achieve my goal by opening up multiple opportunities for me as I begin my college journey and pursue my dream job.

What are you looking most forward to being on Student Government? I look forward most to learning how to be a stronger leader and getting to be involved in so many things on our campus. 

What are you looking most forward to being on Student Government? I am looking forward to helping students become more actively involved in clubs this year and spread the word to increase student participation in all the amazing clubs CC has to offer!

High School: Three Sisters Academy

Major: Business Administration

Interests/hobbies: Astrology, psychology, guitar, archery, bowling, reading, poetry, volunteering, and sports

Why you came to CC: I came to Centralia College because I want to further my education with a business degree and have that be my security for future jobs. Centralia College was also a closer commute.

What do you want to be when you grow up and how CC is going to help you achieve your goal? When I grow up, I would like to have my own business so I can make a difference in the lives of others and have them change my life, too. Centralia College is going to help me achieve this goal by letting me have the opportunity to grow as an individual and learn things as I go that I can use to anything that crosses my path in the future.

What are you looking most forward to being on Student Government? I am looking forward to learning new things, sharing my ideas to hopefully make a difference with my fellow student governments and students. I also am looking forward to having the opportunity to grow and be a better person than I am today.
