Preadvising Student

Centralia College offers several classes that can help students improve their chances of a successful college experience. For more information, see the Student Development (SDEV) classes listed in the college catalog.


SDEV 101 Centralia College 101

This 2-day orientation seminar includes utilizing campus resources and study skills. Topics include library research skills, time management, test taking, note taking, reading skills, and stress management (1 credit).

SDEV 099 Study Skills

Learn essential skills needed for effective study. Course includes learning style assessment, time management, study reading, memory techniques, test-taking strategies, and research techniques (1-5 credits).

SDEV 150 Student Success

Teaches effective study skills for success in college. Topics include organizing college work, note taking, test taking, memory improvement, time management, stress reduction, and many others. Taught with lecture, seminar, group work, and individual projects to help students rediscover their natural learning abilities. Includes a Saturday field trip to the Cispus Challenge Course (3 credits).
