Laju Nankani

Laju Nankani, Director

Born in India, Laju has experienced life as an international student in the United States while pursuing a B.A. in English and Journalism from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND, and a Master of Science degree in Organization Communication and Development from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. While an instructor at Centralia College teaching English, Intercultural Communication, Speech Communication, Technical Writing, and Intensive English, Laju received the 2003 Outstanding Teacher Award from the Two-Year College Association (TYCA). With more than fifteen years of experience as an administrator in corporations, Laju has excellent organization, leadership, creative problem-solving, and management skills. One of her strengths is the instant rapport she can create with students from diverse backgrounds. Some of Laju's interests include intercultural exchanges, running marathons, hiking, and traveling abroad. She has enjoyed her trips to Hong Kong, London, Mexico, and Japan and looks forward to many more.

Vida Long

Vida Long, Programs Specialist

  • Advises the International Club
  • Arranges activities and trips for students
  • Assists with advising students
  • Provides airport pickups
  • Assists with office duties
Vida grew up in Washington state. Having graduated from Wesleyan University in Connecticut with a B.A. in Sociology and German Studies, Vida has studied and worked abroad in Switzerland and Germany and has traveled extensively in Europe and some in Central America. She enjoys learning new languages and helping others to learn English. She is also the volleyball coach at Centralia College. Some of Vida's interests include hiking, swimming, reading, crafts, and spending time with her family and friends from around the world.
