Born in India, Laju has experienced life as an international student in the United States while pursuing a bachelor's degree in English and Journalism from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, and a Master of Science degree in Organization Communication and Development from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. While an instructor at Centralia College teaching English, Intercultural Communication, Speech Communication, Technical Writing, and Intensive English, Laju received the 2003 Outstanding Teacher Award from the Two-Year College Association (TYCA).†With more than 15 years of experience as an administrator in corporations, Laju has excellent organization, leadership, creative problem-solving, and management skills. One of her strengths is the instant rapport she can create with students from diverse backgrounds. Some of Laju's interests include intercultural exchanges, running marathons, hiking, and traveling abroad. She has enjoyed her trips to Hong Kong, London, Mexico, and Japan and looks forward to many more.

Denise is a Washington native with a bachelor's degree in Education from Central Washington University and a masterís degree in Geography from Oregon State University. After finishing her undergraduate studies, Denise spent time travelling and volunteering in Nepal, India, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, England, and Thailand. She studied in Rome, Italy for a TESOL Certificate and spent the next three years directing an English Language Center in Kabul, Afghanistan. After returning to the United States, she spent four years running an Intensive English Program for international students at St. Petersburg College in Florida before joining the staff of Centralia College. Having received incredible generosity and kindness while living abroad, she enjoys providing that same level of hospitality and service to international students studying in America.
