International Student Housing

The International Programs staff works hard to locate safe, comfortable, friendly housing for international students. International students have three housing options: living with a host family, in an international house next to campus, or in your own apartment. Select your housing preference on the International Student Application. For all other questions, please contact our office.

Host Family

Host families are a great way for students to learn about American culture, practice English and experience daily life in the U.S. Students pay $475 per month for a private bedroom and all food. Host family houses are generally within 20 minutes from campus. To apply for a host family, students should complete the Host Family section on the International Student Application and pay the $125 non-refundable placement fee.

International Houses

There are two international houses, located across from the college campus: one for men and one for women. Both houses have private bedrooms, shared kitchens, and shared bathrooms. The men's house has five private bedrooms, and the women's house has four private bedrooms. Smoking and alcohol are not allowed in the international houses.

Cost of International Houses

The rent for each person in an international house is $400 (USD) per month. Rent includes a fully furnished house with:

• private bedroom (with sheets, blankets, pillows)
• complete kitchen (with dishes, pans, silverware, etc.)
• all utilities (such as electricity and heat)
• use of washer and dryer
• shared bathroom
• local phone calls
• cable TV

A partially refundable security/damage deposit of $225 is required in advance. Students must sign a Student Housing Contract after arrival and be responsible for paying rent for at least one term (approx. 3 months/$1200). To apply for the international house, students should complete the International House section on the International Student Application and pay the $225 deposit ($200 of this deposit is refundable). Local Area Apartments

Apartments in this area usually have 2 bedrooms and are unfurnished. The rent ranges from $400-$800 per month and may require a damage deposit and last month's rent. A guide to local apartments is available in the office of International Programs. Students may arrange an apartment after they arrive in the U.S.
