Utility Education and Training Alliance (UETA) Partnership
"When we stumbled onto the Center of Excellence for Energy Technology philosophy, I instantly knew that the COE concept was borne to house the exact purpose of the UETA. The schools are very interested in designing curriculum specific to industry needs. They are ready to bring together the resources from industry and the colleges to make it happen."--Steve Milistefr, Chair UETA and COE Advisory Board Supervisor, BPA Apprenticeship Transmission Business Line
The Centralia College Center of Excellence for Energy Technology and the Utility Education and Training Alliance recently formed a partnership that will broaden the outreach of both alliances. The UETA is a dynamic alliance of the eight major utilities and ten select colleges in the Pacific Northwest states of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.
The UETA mission is to provide a collaborative network between utilities, colleges/universities and associations that will connect a diverse pool of technically skilled job seekers with high-wage, long-term career opportunities in the Power Utilities Industry.
As a COE partner, UETA members will take an active role in the COE Advisory Board to ensure degree and certificate programs align with the skilled workforce needs of the industry.
