About our Capital Campaign

The "Building for the Future" capital campaign is a bold step to raise the quality and breadth of education at Centralia College to new levels. This campaign enhances facilities that will also offer unprecedented community access and bring the college and community closer. We invite you—students, alumni, parents, and friends—to take part in this campaign, and support those areas of Centralia College that mean the most to you. The "Building for the Future" campaign will make a tremendous difference in the quality of education at Centralia College. "Its success requires strong support from a generous community," said Dr. Jim Walton, college president. "We can say without any doubt that the benefits for students and the community are tremendous."

Building for the Future

The Centralia College Foundation is launching its $3 million campaign to raise funds to complete the remodel of the Health and Wellness Center (HWC), purchase equipment for the new Science Center, and enhance the College Commons to provide a 500-seat banquet-style dining facility. These areas of need will not be funded through state sources. The HWC remodel will begin spring 2008, the Science Center will be ready for students by fall 2009, and work on the Commons could begin in 2010.

Our history, our vision

It started with a vision: in 1925, a small community with big ambitions came together to begin a college for students and for the community. More than 80 years later, college and community leaders have set their sights on another ambitious effort to continue that vision. Although it will address many needs, the capital campaign supports three main purposes:
  1. to provide an educational experience unmatched on any community college campus,
  2. to make our campus the engine which drives the success of our community, and
  3. to channel the power of knowledge to make our community and our world a better place.
