Arnold Tomasheck, Basketball and Baseball
1997-1999 Hall of Fame
Arnold was an outstanding player in both basketball and baseball. In 1946, he participated in the post-season basketball tournament in Sacramento, California. But baseball is where he made a name for himself: In 1949 he was team captain, he had a batting average of .350, and was named "All League Catcher." Also, that year his team went undefeated in league play and won the Southern Division title. He continued to play baseball while in the Army and both sports on local teams after he was discharged. Civilian life found him coaching youth baseball, as well as football, for many years.
