Jerry was a pitcher while attending Centralia College and then at Western Washington University from 1976-78. He also pitched for the Bellingham Bells during the summers of 1977 and 1978. He began his coaching career in Rochester in 1979, went to Tenino in 1982, and returned to Rochester in 2002 where he is currently the Athletic Director. He has coached baseball, softball, basketball, football, volleyball, and tennis. He took two teams to the State 1A Championships Tenino in 1986 and Rochester in 2008.
