External Scholarships

These scholarships are offered by local and national organizations. Centralia College is providing this list as a service to our students but does not endorse any particular organization. The list below is not a complete list of the scholarships that may be available to you; the organizations below have communicated with Centralia College in some way to let us know about their scholarships. For additional resources on finding scholarships, you can contact your advisor, the Financial Aid office, or the Advising and Counseling Center. All links provided below will open a new page.

  • Pacific Forest Foundation: The Pacific Forest Foundation is offering scholarships to students who will be studying in forestry-related areas. Scholarships range from $1000 to 3,000 each. Applications and directions are available on the website Pacific Forest Foundation Deadline: May 1, each year.

  • St. Helens Club: The St. Helens Club is offering a $1000 scholarship to a woman who has completed two years of college and intends to continue working toward a higher academic degree. The applicant must be a Lewis County resident. Applications are available by calling Jan Snider at 360-807-8391 or email St.Helens Club Deadline: April 16, 2018.

  • Centralia-Chehalis Emblem Club #163: Centralia-Chehalis Emblem Club #163 is awarding a $1000 scholarship. The applicant must contact M.Frombgen for the official scholarship application and rules. Only their format is accepted; applications must be typed. Deadline: April 1, 2019.

  • Olympia Farmers Market: The Olympia Farmers Market is accepting applications from current residents of Thurston, Lewis or Mason counties that are concentrating their education in agricultural sustainability, organic farming/ranching or sustainable ecosystems within Western Washington. Visit Oly Market for the official scholarship application and rules. Deadline: April 30, annually.

  • TwinStar Credit Union: TwinStar offers eight scholarships of $2000 each to members pursuing higher education. The applicant must have been out of high school for at least one year to apply and be a member of TwinStar. Visit TwinStar for the official scholarship application and criteria. Deadline: July 31, annually.

  • The American Association of University Women, Lewis County: AAUW awards two scholarships a year. The applicant must contact for the official scholarship application. Deadline: February 15, 2019. AAUW Lewis County

  • WSECU: The Washington State Employee Credit Union is awarding two scholarships. A $2500 scholarship for a four year student; a $1500 for a two year student. It's an on-line application process. Deadline: February, annually. WSECU

  • Washington State Opportunity Scholarship: The Washington State Opportunity Scholarship awards up to $22,500 in scholarships. This scholarship supports low and middle income Washington students pursuing majors in science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) or health care. Deadline: February 28, 2019. WSOS

  • WSU-Vancouver: This award is designed for transfer students who have leadership potential, are community-service oriented and have an excellent GPA. Students are nominated by their community college's president and receive a renewable full-tuition award. Applications for this scholarship start in spring quarter.   • Washington State Fair Foundation: The State Fair provides a "fair chance" at a college education. The Blue Ribbon Scholarship Program opened November 19, 2018. For more information, please contact: Kim Arnone at The application process closes February 11, 2019. Blue Ribbon Scholarship Program

  • Southern Washington Mineralogical Society: This $750 scholarship is open to students interested in the fields of geology, earth science, environmental science or related fields. An application form may be obtained by calling 360-245-3423 or e-mailing Bev Wiench at Deadline: May 31st, annually.

  • Washington Women in Need: Washington Women in Need is a nonprofit organization that provides education grants to low-income women in Washington State. Applicants must meet WWIN's eligibility criteria to be considered. Deadline: Grant cycles are continuous - please check website. WWIN

  • Colburn Law: Colburn Law is offering a $3,000 scholarship to help a student who has suffered or a loved one has suffered from a traumatic brain injury. Deadline: June 1, 2019. Colburn Law Scholarship

  • Thrifty Momma: Thrifty Momma Ramblings is offering a $500 scholarship to help a student pay for education. Applicants must write a 1500 essay about the best bargain they have ever come across, why it was significant and how much money was saved. Deadline: December 31, 2018. Thrifty Momma

  • Game Village: Game Village is awarding a $500 scholarship for students who are passionate about the gaming industry and want to take up further studies for researching in the field. A 400 word essay stating why you need the scholarship and how it will help you. No deadline provided. Game Village

  • Rosenkrantz Scholarship Fund: The Alex and Suzanne Rosenkrantz Scholarship Fund is offering a scholarship to a deaf/blind student who describes their background and reasons why they deserve a scholarship. Applications are accepted year round for an August review period. Deadline: July 15, annually. Rosenkrantz Scholarship

  • Mesothelioma Guide: The Mesothelioma Guide is offering scholarships to assist students affected by mesothelioma. You must write an essay telling your story and include facts about the desease and demonstrate an understanding of mesothelioma. The essay must be between 1000 to 2000 words. Deadline - July 1, 2019.   • ZipRecruiter: ZipRecruiter is offering a $3,000 scholarship to a student each quarter who writes a creative essay on one of their three topics. The essay should be between 250-500 words. Deadline - Quarterly. March 31, 2018, June 30, 2018, Sept. 30, 2018, Dec. 31, 2018. ZipRecruiter
