Important: Check your student email!
We are communicating with students almost exclusively via email. It is important to create a Centralia College student email account as soon as possible, and check it regularly. (Only available to registered students.)
Centralia College requires attendance in all classes. Beginning summer quarter 2016 there is a new attendance policy in effect. Failure to commence attendance in any class will result in your withdrawal and will have the potential for you owing some or all of your funding. It is your responsibility to notify your instructor(s) if unable to attend class.
About Financial AidFinancial aid is designed to provide assistance when student resources are insufficient to meet the cost of going to college. Centralia College provides a comprehensive student financial aid program to eligible students. We help students access federal, state, and institutional funds to offset educational costs. The Financial Aid Office has an open door policy with caring staff to meet the needs of students. Please contact the Financial Aid office for application information.
About Student Employment / Work Study JobsSee Student Job Center for information regarding student employment programs.
Application DeadlinesAs most funds are available on a limited basis, we encourage you to apply early. For maximum consideration of available funds, you must have a complete financial aid file (FAFSA, CC Financial Aid Form, Application for Admissions, etc.) by April 14, 2017, for the 2017-2018 academic year. We continue to award students after April 14th on a rolling basis.
What if I am selected for verification? One in three Financial Aid Applications (FAFSA) are selected for a process called verification. This requires the Financial Aid Office to verify information that was reported on the FAFSA. Verification is now customized, meaning that items required to be verified are different for each applicant. Verification groups are how students are identified by the processor and there are 4 different groupings. Depending on what group a student is assigned will determine what documents are needed to meet verification requirements.
The 4 groups are:
- Standard Verification Group
- Custom Verification
- Aggregate Verification Group
- Untaxed Income Verification Group
