Beyond Parallax: 15-Year RetrospectiveBeyond Parallax began as an assessment-funded experiment in the early 1990s, organized by several members of the college's English department, but soon became a student club and then an organization with funding from Student Programs.
Faculty Advisor, Linda Foss—a creative writing major and former editor for several literary projects—coordinated 15 years of print publication as a collaborative learning process for students.
In 2009 the last print edition was published as student interest seemed to wane and Foss was heavily engaged in the accreditation self-study process. However, Foss wanted to honor the long history of this effort so with the help of several "lifetime members" (former students) and the college's graphic designer, Colene Clark, the retrospective was pulled together. This may be the transition of the journal to a web-based format in the future if there is renewed student interest.
