T.R. Gratz currently is serving as Interim Dean of Instruction, Academic Transfer.

For the previous 15 years, he taught journalism courses and advised the college's student newspaper, the blue&gold. He also taught English composition and digital photography courses. In June 2000, Gratz received the college's Exceptional Faculty Award.

Prior to arriving in Centralia, Gratz served as editor of The Bluffton (Ohio) News and as the director of Public Information for the Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Fla. During his tenure at The Bluffton News, Gratz received first place and third place awards in the Buckeye Press Association's annual news photo competition. Gratz also has taught at Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio, and at Rhodes State College in Lima, Ohio.

His poetry has appeared in Rolling Stone magazine.

He received his master of arts degree from New York University.
