I focus on American Literature (survey course and Spring Quarter “Great American Novel” course:  Moby-Dick and other great novels), composition (English 101 and 102), and Intro. to Philosophy and Intro. to Ethics, two courses which allow for creative and pluralistic exploring of thinking and moral action over the ages.   I also organize the college Lyceum series of lectures which carries a 1 credit academic component.  This is listed in our schedules each term under Humanities.

 I give periodic Scholarship Application workshops and Grammar reviews in the Writing Center, and I enjoy helping students craft poetry and dip deep into literature so they can have a rich and flourishing experience here and upon transfer and later in life whatever path they take.  I have also taught at The Evergreen State College a couple of times each year for many years, so I can help students navigate their less structured way of educating whenever asked.    I cherish friendships with colleagues and students.   Don
