General Engineering
Associate in Science

Purpose

The General Engineering program is for persons transferring to a four-year college or university to complete a degree in an engineering discipline. The remaining quarter credits should be planned with the help of an advisor based on the requirements of the specific discipline at the baccalaureate institution the student selects to attend. If you are not well prepared in high school mathematics and science, you should plan, with your advisor, a three-year program at Centralia College in preparation for transfer to a four-year college or university. The main emphasis in the first year at Centralia should be on strengthening your mathematics, basic sciences, communications, and reading skills.

Note:

1. A minimum of ninety-three (93) credits is required for the Associate of Science transfer degree. Engineering students generally will exceed this number.

2. A minimum grade point average of 2.00 is required for the degree

3. Students completing this Associate in Science will receive the same priority consideration for admission to Washington State baccalaureate institutions as they would for completing the direct transfer associate's degree and will be given junior status by the receiving institution.

4. Additional general educational requirements, cultural diversity requirements, and foreign language requirements, as required by the transfer institution, must be met prior to the completion of a baccalaureate degree.

5. Students are responsible for checking specific major requirements of baccalaureate institutions in the year prior to transferring. To ensure optimal course selection plan your program carefully with the help of your advisor.
