Educational Paraprofessional
Associate in Applied Science - Transfer Degree

Purpose

The Educational Paraprofessional program prepares students for employment as educational assistants in the public school system. These courses are designed for individuals who work under the supervision and alongside a certified/licensed staff member in varying capacities within the school system. Students may enter any quarter and participate on a part-time schedule.

Career Opportunities: Teachers in child care centers, family day care homes, cooperative and private preschools, Headstart, parks and recreation programs, aides in public and private schools, and work in social service agencies

Note: The Associate in Applied Science-Transfer degree is for transfer to schools offering baccalaureates in applied science. This degree combines the technical focus on the Associate in Technical Arts with a minimum of 20 credits of transferable academic courses. This degree is not generally transferable. If transfer is your intent you should work with  your advisor to make sure this is the degree for you.
